FDA slow to take action on vaginal mesh

The latest update, issued by the FDA regarding the surgical mesh products are from 2011, where they warn about the complications and based on their investigation there may be no benefit for using surgical mesh over more traditional surgical methods. Their vaginal mesh warnings also states that the complications associated with POP repair with vaginal mesh are "not rare" and the issue should be treated seriously by both patients and surgeons as well.
